The origin of the school is rooted in the history of the parish and the earliest record of a school appears to be in 1745 when church wardens had to pay for "putting a window in the schools" and a "skeine of helme" to thatch the roof. It is most likely, however, that the origin is even earlier as it was quite common from the 16th century for a parson to give a little education to bright boys.
In 1817 the school building bordering High Street at the bottom of Trafalgar Road was opened and, after extension in 1895, it continued as school premises until 1957 when the present building was completed.
The Infants' Department was opened in September 1971, being all overflow from All Saints Primary School next door. It is an attractive open-plan, one-storied building in very pleasant surroundings of parkland and farmland with rising hills above. This gives it a semi-rural setting, although being within the Bath boundary.
Since September 1986 the two buildings became one school operating as a Primary School. We are very fortunate in having attractive classrooms on both sites each with their' owl] facilities, which include a Hall, Kitchen and Library. We have a total of three tarmac playgrounds, two football pitches and plenty of grassed areas, providing spacious play and outdoor P.E. facilities. We have an outdoor heated swimming pool
In September 1994 the Hearing Impaired Resource Base was opened on our Infant site. This enables children with hearing loss to receive specialist teaching on site whilst remaining in a main stream class. The H.I.R.B. services all primary aged children in the Bath and surrounding area.

THE SCHOOL AND THE COMMUNITY
The School is an integral part of our community and in 1991- we won a School's Curriculum Award in recognition of this. Our involvement ranges from visiting and entertaining senior citizens' groups to working in close co-ordination with nursery establishments, One of our aims is to encourage the children to become more aware of their community and their role within it. This applies to the child as an individual or in a wider context as a member of our school. To this end the Head teacher and staff welcome many and varied ideas on increasing the school's activities in the community.

W.A.S.P.S Statement of Belief
At Weston All Saints Primary School we believe that high expectations together with quality teaching in small classes helps children to work towards reaching their full potential.
We choose to use ability grouping for some lessons where we believe it benefits
children's learning. We believe that high achievers, as well as low achievers. can
have special needs.
We believe that children learn best in a warm, caring environment where every effort is made to foster strong relationships between children, adults and the community.
We value the additional relationships and inter-action that children at WASPS
experience through our partnership with Bath College of Higher Education.
We have a particular commitment to the Performing and Creative Arts. believing that children's creativity should be developed to enhance their, learning and their self-confidence.
We believe in the importance of positive self-esteem. for all children.
We endeavor to use these beliefs to guide our choices,
decisions and practices whenever possible.
